About the Camp (Download)
FUN: Come join the summer fun at the Rhys Thomas Tennis and Squash Camp at Dana Hall. Rhys Thomas, former Tennis Director of 18 years at the Dedham Country and Polo Club, nationally renowned tennis teacher and speaker, and staff, are dedicated to helping each student enjoy a full day of tennis, squash, swimming and field games. Each age group and ability level receives top instruction in tennis and squash in programs specifically tailored to meet their needs.
The teaching curriculum is based on developing strokes and skills in tandem with balance and coordination. Each student will be seen and taught as the unique individual he or she truly is. Groups will be divided by age and/or ability. We aim to build each camper's self-confidence and respect for others while they make friends and above all, have fun!
SAFETY: Rhys Thomas camp programs must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105CMR 430) and are licensed by the Town of Wellesley Board of Health. Information on these regulations may be obtained at 617.983.6761 and are outlined in the health form information page.
FACILITIES: We have the use of 5 outdoor tennis courts, 4 squash courts, a soccer field, indoor gym activities in case of rain or extreme heat, and an indoor swimming pool.
STAFF: Our excellent staff members ensure individualized attention to all campers. Massachusetts State Law requires each staff member to have a CORI and SORI background check before their start of employment to ensure your child a safe, fun camp environment. Parents may request copies of the background checks, discipline policies, and procedures for filing grievances.
CAMP OPERATIONS: The camp opens on Monday, June 9th with drop-off starting at 8:45 a.m. and closes on Friday, August 8th at 3:30 p.m. The camp operates Monday through Friday for nine weeks. The day begins at 9:00 a.m. and dismissal time is 3:00 p.m.
